Art Journey

In 1993, she moved to Singapore, where she had an opportunity to learn the Xieyi style (freehand) of Oriental brush painting under Singaporean artist Mr. Ong Seng Huat for five years. She later moved to other countries and returned to Singapore in 2007.

She joined the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and completed a certificate course to further her skills in this style. Subsequently she started training under senior artists Mr. Chen Shi Jin in ‘Huaniaohua’ (Bird-and-flower painting) and Mr. Lim Choon Jin in Shan Shui (Mountain-Water/landscape) for eight years.

Encouraged by her Lao Shi (Master/Teacher) Mr. Lim Choon Jin to develop a style of her own, she started experimenting and now paints in contemporary freestyle.

Having lived in different parts of the globe over the last 28 years, she has been fortunate to get an insight into various cultures and has had an opportunity to travel extensively to several places of natural interest.
Painting for her is a spiritual experience.

The beauty and grandeur of nature is a source of unrivalled inspiration. She believes that nature plays a vital role in one’s physical and mental wellbeing.

The breathtaking vistas of the mighty Himalayas leave her spellbound! She believes that these majestic mountains, dotted with crystal blue sparkling lakes, radiate a spiritual energy that gives inner peace and tranquility to the yearning soul.

She extensively paints on this subject. Her paintings are meditative and spontaneous. They are an amalgamation of her travels through this ethereal landscape.
